About

Dr-Wasson-3

My introduction to chiropractic came after being in a car accident in my first year of college. The car was totaled, and I was left with daily migraine headaches. I had many visits to a neurologist, but he could provide me no relief from debilitating pain. I spent several months in physical therapy and was given a special pillow, but again, no relief.

My father, a pharmacist, provided me with many helpful medicinal options to help control the pain as I struggled through daily life. He then recommended I find a chiropractor and see what they could do to help. I was willing to try anything to get rid of my pain (or at least control it without drugs), found a chiropractor who attended my church, and started seeing him several times a week.

That was that. I had found the solution to my suffering. I felt amazing! Not only was my pain going away, but I felt better than I had in years! I abandoned my track to medical school and went to Parker College of Chiropractic instead.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness, and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I have advanced training in functional movement therapy, sports chiropractic, pediatric chiropractic, prenatal and postnatal care, and nutrition. I am also an FMCSA Nationally Registered Certified Medical Examiner.

I have spent my professional life focused on health and wellness, specifically in the areas of anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, microbiology, and epigenetics. A doctoral degree taught me a great deal about the human body and how it operates, but for the past 15 years I have focused on health and wellness at a more functional level including physiological effects of mental health, diet, nutrition, and exercise on our genome and psychological factors of behavioral change and how they can be utilized to promote greater well-being, happiness and reduction of chronic diseases. My goal has been to understand at a fundamental level what lifestyle choices most effectively impact and can improve a client’s vitality, longevity and healthspan. I have consulted for Fortune 100 companies and through my own practice try and bring practical application to make a difference in the lives of my patients in meaningful and sustainable ways. I provide instruction and knowledge to help each person understand what they need to do, eat, and think to have the greatest health improvements based on their specific genetic recipe and lifestyle to live the best life for the longest.
